What They Should Have Told Us - A Wish List for Social Workers

January 27, 2023 | 10:00 am to 1:00 pm (ET)

Presenter: Stacy Triumph, LCSW

Target Audience: Social Workers

Content level: Entry to Advanced

CE credits: 3

About the webinar:

This workshop was designed to address many of the topics that we as Social Workers wished we had known when making the decision to enter this profession. Upon joining the workforce, we hoped that our educational institutions would have fully prepared us for this type of professional undertaking, but often discovered that there was content, context, or skills that were lightly touched upon or sorely missing altogether. If this speaks to you and where you are in your career, join us! Regardless of whether you are a newly minted Social Worker with your Graduate Degree in hand or are a more seasoned Social Worker who needs a refresher or is desiring increased knowledge, this workshop is for you. This webinar will cover establishing your professional identity as a Social Worker via the clinical applications of Self-Disclosure and Boundaries; developing clinically competent Social Work practice through identification of values, strengths, and areas of growth; and the utilization of professional communication when navigating various scopes of practice.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this webinar participants will be able to:

  1. Describe three (3) components helpful in creating and maintaining your Social Work professional identity.
  2. Describe four (4) components of Clinically Competent Social Work Practice and how these apply to your work.
  3. Analyze and discern the best uses of professional communication within various scopes of Clinical Social Work practice.
